Well-being

Working Party Leads: Vanessa Payne, Rachael Swaby, Suzanne Hall

The DLP Wellbeing Working Party works to support the Emotional Health and Mental Wellbeing of pupils and their families, staff and Governors. We advocate the use of the term ‘Emotional Health and Mental Wellbeing’ to highlight the inclusive nature of our approach. Our intention is to promote positive emotional health and mental wellbeing across the whole school partnership.

A key component in the delivery of our offer is staff wellbeing; ensuring that staff are well-supported and able to deliver quality provision for emotional health and mental wellbeing to all our pupils. Therefore, as a partnership, we are committed to promoting positive mental, physical and emotional wellbeing and will provide suitable support for all members of staff.

The DLP schools are creating a model for staff to offer coaching across different schools, enhancing skills, colleague support, and partnership. The Pastoral Network will be reinstated termly to ensure each school is well-equipped for effective pastoral support.

There’s also a focus on supporting the wellbeing of new and early Headteachers within the DLP partnership. Additionally, a DLP pastoral support directory is being established to provide guidance on best practices and key contacts within and outside DLP. Moreover, the formation of a DLP Pupil School Council is set to encourage student involvement and representation.
